| Résumé : |
The sea ecosystems represent an interesting and rich field for chemical and pharmacological investigations. Marine organisms are well known to biosynthesize a number of secondary metabolites, often to protect themselves against predators. Most of these molecules have been chemically characterised and pharmacologically tested, showing to be useful in the care of human diseases. Many marine metabolites, belonging to different chemical classes, act on inflammation cascade, sometimes displaying activities comparable or greater than those of usual steroidal or non steroidal antiinflammatory drugs. In this paper we describe the an-tiinflammatory properties of several marine compounds with terpene (pseudopterosins, manoalide and its analogues), steroidal (contignas-terol) and cyclopeptide (cyclomarins, salinamides, phomactin A) skeletons. |
