Titre : Caracterisation biologique et variation des captures de la grande alose (Alosa alosa) par unite d'effort sur le fleuve Adour (Pyrenees Atlantiques, France) Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Prouzet, Patrick, Auteur Importance : pp. 1-10 Langues : Anglais (eng) Index. décimale : 578 Histoire naturelle des organismes vivants Résumé : The study of logbooks from commercial fishermen on the Adour River and commercial samples allowed characterization of the allis shad population (Alosa alosa L.) caught during the period 1988-91. A better knowledge of the influence of hydroclimatic factors (rate of river flow and intensity of tidal coefficient) on the catchability of the species in (hat river was also obtained. Allis shad are mainly recruited to this fishery from the beginning of April to the end of May: between 78 and 89 % depending on year. Males in the population were on average younger than females. However, at the same age, males were significantly smaller in size and in weight than females. These results reinforce the knowledge already obtained on French stocks in the Loire and Girondc river networks. During the main exploitation period of allis shad, we noted the influence of the rale of flow and tidal coefficients on catch per unit effort (kg per trip) variations. Analysis performed either with Correspondence Analysis or with Generalized Linear Model indicated that an increase of catch per unit effort (CPUE) is associated with the increase in the tidal coefficient. The rate of flow was considered to be a secondary factor of variation. Titre : Development of marine resources Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Prouzet, Patrick, Auteur Editeur : ISTE Année de publication : 2014 Importance : XII-218 p. Format : 24 cm ISBN/ISSN/EAN : 978-1-84821-705-8 Langues : Anglais (eng) Index. décimale : 381 Commerce intérieur Résumé : The books brought together in the "seas and oceans" Set make up a multi-disciplinary and systemic approach to the complexity, vulnerability, productivity and exploitation of the marine environment that is today faced with global change. This set of books does not simply describe and analyze the mechanisms that act on how these environments work, but it also presents a cross-disciplinary approach, leading to the governance, sustainable management of resources and adaptation of our societies to change.
Living marine resources have been used by humans for millennia. Progress in scientific research and biotechnologies has thus led to finding a use for algal biomass, as well as to the discovery of an astounding number of pharmaceuticals from marine organisms.Technological advances have also enabled us to develop means of exploiting renewable energy.Development of marine resources [texte imprimé] / Prouzet, Patrick, Auteur . - ISTE, 2014 . - XII-218 p. ; 24 cm.
